WTA title has been won by Li beating Clijsters overcoming a 5-0 deficit in the first set to beat third-seeded Kim Clijsters 7-6 (3), 6-3 at the Sydney International.
On the first set Clijseters was leading the scorecard but the Belgian collapsed in the opening set and played badly in the second set.
Clijsters had so far won 27 of her previous 30 matches, grabbing a third U.S. Open title and the 2010 year-end championship.
Clijsters would have displaced as the second-ranked player with a victory over Li.This is Clijsters third successive defeats since Wimbledon Championship in July
