Czech Republic's Iveta Benesova had been defeated by Russian tennis star Vera Zvonareva in the fourth round of the Australian Open championship, progressing into the quarter-finals.
Benesova was beaten up in 76 minutes 6-4, 6-1 by Vera who seeds number 2.In the first set Russian was down 2-4 , but won the next four games, and then take a comfortable victory in the second set.
In the next round Vera will face Czech Petra Kvitova, who won over Italy's Flavia Pennetta 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 on Monday, for a place in the championship's semi-finals.
Zvonareva finished second at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open last year.
