Kieran Djilali has been a long summer at AFC Wimbledon Championship

The uncertainty for Kieran Djilali has been a long summer but new signing of AFC Wimbledon than happy to finally have his future.

The 20-year-old striker at the end of last season are being offered a contract extension to stay at Selhurst Park but has left Championship side Crystal Palace, instead going in search of first team football elsewhere.

A succession of clubs up and down the test figures last week showed their interest and Djilali Terry Brown's men on the terms agreed to in the country.

"It has been a long summer and obviously not the best summer," said Djilali, who dons against Watford tomorrow to play in a reserve match.

"Every footballer worries about their future but I had faith in my ability and I knew that if someone gave me a chance I can prove them right.

"Palace offered me another contract but I wasn't going to be getting first team games and that's what I want.

"It's always a gamble but most choices in life are gambles.

"I could have kept the stability of being at a Championship club but I wanted more and hopefully I can pull it off.

"But I am glad to have joined Wimbledon now and I am very thankful for the opportunity.

"I have only been in a couple of days so haven't really spent much time with the lads but they welcomed me very warmly."

Djilali by Brown last week made ​​two signings, the former Fulham midfielder who provides more than an agreement was one of Noble added, and the Dons manager has challenged the striker to prove himself in League Two.

Brown said, "As with all new signings, the proof is in the pudding and he has to establish himself in the side and make a difference".

"He has got a good CV, is a talented boy, has really quick feet and can get behind people and hopefully score and set up some goals.

"His experience at higher levels will help and it is a very good singing on paper.

"But sometimes, when players drop down the leagues, it is a little bit hard for them to motivate themselves, but it is my job to make sure he is himself and enjoys his football."

Djilali part tomorrow against Port Vale on Monday began training with figures expected to play, and believes last Saturday's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Macclesfield Town was only a blip.

He said, "There's always setbacks on every road to success".

"Our target is to finish as high as possible, the idea is not just to stay in the league but to go further.

"We have got quality in the squad and there's a togetherness there."
